Traits
Brindle creates broken vertical parallel stripes/barring on the coat.
Brindle may be darker or lighter than the base coat color.
Brindle will show as a darker version of the base coat, but may be totally black on black- or bay-based coats.
Brindle stripes should be thin (about the width of the horse's pupil), mostly straight, and parallel, but may "clump together" to create darker patches.
Brindle does NOT create zebra/tiger stripes, only thin vertical barring on the coat.
- Coat: Dark thin vertical striping.
- Mane and Tail: Not affected.
- Skin: Not affected.
- Eyes: Not affected.
- Hooves: Not affected.
Range:
- Minimum: May be hidden entirely.
- Maximum: Dark parallel stripes covering the entire body except the face and below the knees/hocks.
