The Soul Harvest - October Event
Posted 1 month ago :: Last edited 1 week ago by mikeoflangeloEvent: The Soul Harvest
Peculiar vines grow in the dungeon wherever the veil between this world and the next grows thin. The ethereal power of the blossoms and gourds that grow on these vines draw out hordes of the dungeon's countless dead, restless spirits otherwise doomed to wander the labyrinth eternally.
The Harvester has come to collect this crop of souls and usher them into the afterlife. Enterprising Coursers may benefit from assisting him in his grim task, or by offering him the Soul Seeds needed to grow his vines for next year's harvest.
Soul Seeds can be used in the Harvester's Shop to purchase exclusive items, weapons and pets. Soul Seeds can be found in Seed Pouches, which will be given as rewards for all Dungeon Dives processed during the Soul Harvest event, as well as Daily Event Rewards just for logging in!

Prompts: Join the Soul Harvest
Submission Instructions
- Choose a prompt and write, draw, or roleplay your response.
- Submit your work to the Event Gallery instead of the main gallery or a quest gallery.
- Select your regular coin rewards and put them in as usual.
- Click add reward a second time after you have done your regular coin calculation and select "Soul Harvest Prompts" to receive your Soul Seeds!
Event Prompt responses can be stacked with Campaigns and Dungeon Dives for additional rewards!
However, if submitting as a quest, that quest's rules still apply (e.g. a Dungeon Dive must be done solo, so RP responses to an Event Prompt cannot be submitted as a Dive).
Each of these prompts can be completed once per character, and players may choose them at will!
Whether your Courser chooses to assist the Harvester in the ferrying of souls or is simply a bystander during this liminal hour in the Buried Kingdom, there are many encounters to be had with the world beyond...
- Legend says that the Harvester is more likely to come out during the full moon that bears his name. Do you wish to meet him under the Harvest Moon? Or do you shelter somewhere to stay clear of its blood-red beams?
- The yellow flowers that grow alongside the pumpkins on the Harvester’s Soul Vines tend to grow in strange patterns. On a ledge, you get a bird’s eye view of one such patch. Thousands of flowers bloom in squares, like soldiers in opposing battalions. Uneven scars of emptiness mar the field. At night, it is said, the entire valley resounds with the clatter of armor, screams of Coursers, and shouts in human language. Do you dare to visit the dead in the dark?
- The human ghosts you encounter while serving the Harvester bear a sigil you may recognize: a pentacle with two Coursers’ heads laid over it, each appearing to bite the other in the neck. This same sigil marks much of the human armor found in the Moor of Sleep. Others, however – especially humanoids of other species – bear different sigils on their banners and armor. You may meet an orc bearing a fabulously-tusked boar, a dwarf bearing a maned goat, or an elf bearing a thin hind. Who are these restless spirits? How do you interact with them?
- One dwarven spirit appears to you from a blackened Soul Vine in the Earthen Furnace. They seem to wish to speak to you, but they can only moan two words before they disappear into steam again: The Forge? The Forge?
- The Harvester warns you that not all spirits are peaceful. Some of them burn with a rage they did not come by on their own in life. One night, you encounter a spectral animal – a Courser, you think at first, but no. This is no Courser, but a monster in Courser shape. Its eyes glow red with malice; its skull is gaunt, its movements predatory, more wolf than equine. You can feel its corruption. Its wrongness. Do you attempt to help the Harvester apprehend it, or do you flee?
- One word is on the lips of every spirit, two-legged or Courser, man or elf: Galatea. Galatea. Galatea. The Harvester is silent if queried on the matter. What do you make of this?
New Dungeon Courser Variant: Cavedweller
These Dungeon Coursers are said to be descended from those who were buried with the rest of the kingdom. Their hairless, eyeless bodies are the result of generations spent in magical darkness, navigating by sound and taste.
They conquer the narrowest of passages at a dead gallop, their keen senses guiding their way.
Create a Cavedweller today with a Variant Potion or
transform an existing horse or geno with a Deep Gemstone.
