Variants

How do I get a Variant?

Variants are rare variations that be acquired in several ways:

  • Every Mystery Import or Custom Import has a 5% chance of rolling a random Variant!
  • Every horse with a Variant has a 25% chance of passing that Variant onto foals via Breeding (Two Variant parents = 50% chance of a foal with a Variant)!
  • Applying a Variant Potion when redeeming an Import Scroll will guarantee a Variant!
  • Applying a Transformation item (such as a Deep Gemstone) will turn any existing horse or undesigned geno into a Variant.

What if I don't like a Variant?

If your foal or import rolls a Variant you don't want, you can simply leave it off and choose not to use it!

Cavedweller

Cavedweller (Dungeon Courser Variant)

These Dungeon Coursers are said to have been buried with the rest of the kingdom. Their hairless, eyeless bodies are the result of generations spent in magical darkness, navigating by sound and taste.

They can conquer the narrowest of passages at a dead gallop, their keen senses guiding their way.

Before you color: The Cavedweller variant has either no coat or a sparse coat. You can color them in one of two ways:
  1. Color using only the skin colors for the appropriate coat/markings
  2. Color the skin layer, then color the coat layer at 50% opacity (or lower) on top.
Metallic traits (Kintsugi, Swarf, Gilt) can be full opacity.

The Cavedweller variant has no mane, tail, or eyes. Mane/tail traits (Silver, Flaxen, Pennant) will not be visible.
Eye anomalies (Ore, Geode, Stained Glass, Oracle) may appear on the mouth if you so choose: The Teeth layer may be affected by iris anomalies (Ore, Stained Glass), and the Gums layer may be affected by sclera anomalies (Geode). Oracle will affect both the Teeth and Gums layers.
