Sparrowhawk was born to a herd of surface wanderers who call themselves the Flock. Instated by the Flock's matriarch in an attempt to keep the herd safe, their only rule was thus: under no circumstance should any of its members enter the Dungeon. As a foal, Sparrowhawk felt an innate call to the Dungeon, as all Coursers do; upon their turning a year old, they chose to act on this call, forever leaving the Flock alongside their childhood friend Goldfinch. After a long journey that has taken them from the depths of the Dungeon to the high mountains of the Buried Kingdom, Sparrowhawk and Goldfinch now find themselves at the steps of the Foxpaw Library...
