2603: Altassian's Links

Relationship Status: Old Friends

Orpheus holds half of Altassian's heart, though the other Courser will never commit to anything serious. Altassian is content to let him flit in and out of his life as he wills (though he does demand his attention at times)- he loves him too dearly to cage him. The desire will remain locked deep in his heart; he will treasure the time that Orpheus gives him, greedily drink in his affection and his friendship, and it will be enough. It must be enough.

Altassian is...a friend. Perhaps more than a friend, at times, though their dalliances are fleeting. Their relationship is easy, secure; Orpheus knows he can always return to Altassian, and Altassian can always turn to him. Their bond has lasted years- through many a dungeon dive and campaign- and it is unlikely to change.

Relationship Status: Rivals

Altassian considers Melenna to be a bit of an upstart- though definitely not any meaningful competition. Her desire to monopolize Orpheus' time is easily countered by Altassian's effervescent, purposefully-oblivious meddling; Orpheus will always return to him, after all, even if he must be prodded in the right direction at times.

Melenna does not like Altassian; she considers the Courser to be too weak-willed. If she were in a position where Orpheus was always coming and going, she'd find a way to tie the other Courser to her irrevocably. That he takes up so much of her mentor's time, too, is unforgiveable- she has much to learn, and she is just as worthy of Orpheus' time as he.

Relationship Status: Found Family

The strength of Altassian's love for Orpheus is only very nearly matched by his familial regard towards Wicke; he considers the younger Courser to be his younger brother and treats him accordingly.

An elder brother- and one who has been endlessly kind to him, even when he was young and decidedly troubled. Wicke considers Altassian to be an excellent role model and an even dearer friend; it helps that Orpheus, too, holds the Courser in such high regard. He might not understand the nature of Orpheus and Altassian's relationship, but he supports both of them when he can.
