A blacksmith's apprentice (though nearing his journeyman promotion), Desmond is a gentle Courser. His good intentions- and somewhat naiive demeanor- often lead him into dangerous situations, especially in the dungeons, but he can't stop himself from helping a Courser in need. His ever-present companion is a Wisp by the name of Fizzle; it functions both as his lantern light and a helping hand in the forges. Desmond's specialty is the creation of weapons- most notably swords- and he is considered to have great promise by the masters in the Guild of Wandering Winds. Despite his young age, Desmond has a habit of taking in strays- young Coursers with no families of their own- and supports them with his craft until they can stand on their own four hooves.
