Penniope of Nowhere.

Pen is one of the last foals born to the sire of her herd, one of the lowly roaming bands in the wilds, before tragedy strikes in the form of a maddened bear. There've been stories of strange things happening, and goodness only knows if that had been one of them, or not. Pen grows within that herd, all but a commune, where affection and stories of grand adventures long past (and perhaps more recent) encase her in a simple life, but a peaceful one.

Penniope is not a peaceful filly.

She pushes boundaries. She yearns to explore. And when, one day, she ventures too far into the dark wood and brings dangers back to the herd, to her mother, her cousins, to everyone, there's death. It was an accident. And the worst part is that nobody blames her for it. It's a part of life, tragedy. Danger is the way of things.

Pen does not accept this. Angry, grieving, she will find her own penance, and so she leaves her herd, and strikes out for adventure unknown. When she learns of the Dungeons, first arrives amongst larger villages and towns where Coursers have made solid lives - it is here, that Penniope decides she will make her mark, and atone for her mistakes. And nobody will stand in her way.
