• Is this your first time in the dungeon, or are you a veteran of the Courser's calling? When and why did you decide to answer the call of the depths?

Pierce felt the calling of the dungeon many passes of the moon ago, when he was just a young colt. Always inspired by the stories passed on from his parents and random travelers he would intentionally overhear, the adventure was everything he had ever wanted. Learning about the past coursers traversing through the caverns, the new discoveries of flora and fauna he had only learned in stories, and the death defying traps that always kept him on the tip of his hooves, brought him so much joy he decided to leave the surface life and settle down in the dungeons. Leaving his family behind was definitely hard for him, but Pierce's parents knew that this is what their son wanted, and Pierce himself knew that he wouldn't be happy without the adventure, so off he went.

Years would pass as Pierce assisted other adventurers alongside his own, and eventually he would meet a young, beautiful mare just adventurous as himself. He was instantly captivated. Not only by her beauty, but her drive and passion for the mysteries the dungeon held. She went by the name Rosemary, and the two of them hit it off almost instantaneously. The two would explore the caverns together, cutting up and getting themselves into all sorts of mischief. Expertly solving puzzles became their specialty and the two of them loved assisting other coursers so they could get their own fair share of the delectable treasure. Eventually they both would fall incredibly hard for eachother and with a few more cycles of the moon, the two would start a family. Rosemary gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Eve, and Pierce couldn't believe how incredible his life had become. The two taught their daughter the way of the dungeon, the fun exciting mysteries alongside the strange dangers that awaited anyone exploring. The whole family would explore together, solving puzzles and introducing Eve to the fauna tbey shared their home with. Everything was perfect in those moments. Everything was exactly how it should be.

The three pathfinders picked up their camp and began exploring sanctions of the dungeon that they hadn't been to before. There were giant speaking toads, pixies dancing in the light of glowing fungi, and twisting corridors that seemed to make a maze of their own. Sometimes the family would split off from eachother, but they never wandered too far.

Until one day Pierce noticed it had gotten awfully quiet. The only hooves that he could hear against the stone were his own. He called out for Eve. Then for Rosemary. Then Eve again. And got nothing but his own echo in response. In a wild panic he frantically dipped around corners to where he last knew his wife and child were located. He called out once more and expected silence, but a voice whispered to him, called to him. It didn't echo off of the walls of the corridors like his just had done, it sounded as if it was echoing inside his brain. Inside his own head. It was calling to him. Pleading to him to join in. Pierce's feet moved on their own as he felt himself drawn to a room. The room had mindless scribbles of text that even the smartest of coursers couldn't make out, and in the center was a hole. A giant, vacant, dark, hole. The voices were louder now, calling to him once more to the hole. The hole was made for him. He had to go in. Thankfully Pierce's mental fortitude was strong enough to shake off the voices, and run far away from the vacant depth that was calling to him. He could only speculate that that was what had swallowed his family up. He never saw them again.

Years had past and Pierce had aged. He was still the kind soul that he was when he met his late wife, helping young coursers manage their way through the first level of the dungeon. He was an expert on it after all. The tyrian dun knew every puzzle and just about every twist and turn the dungeon had to offer. Most consider Pierce a veteran to the dungeon. He was much older than most of the coursers who answer the call, but that didn't stop him. He just wants to make sure other coursers dont meet the same fate as the ones he used to hold so close, and hes going to do just that.
