Arthur's limbs trembled as he watched the beast fall to the ground, leaving the metal grate. Chant had been licking and pulling while Reverend kicked harshly at the monster's face, and finally it was gone. Well, until another one returned in place of it.
For the moment however, it was quiet. Chant let out a weak huff, checking his hind legs before relaxing when he noticed he was fine. He was quick to shoot a glare at the young heraldic in the room. "Are you idiotic? What kind of adventurer goes up to a monster practically singing a siren call?"

Arthur's chest puffed up when he saw the other walk up to him with flared nostrils. Arthur narrowed his brows, tail whipping the air. "The hells do you mean? How was I supposed to know it was hostile? You could have scared it into violence."

Chant's body tensed. "Scared it into violence...have you gone into any dungeons on your own?"

Reverend let out a loud huff, stepping himself between the two while looking down at Chsnt. "Enough. It was a close call, but the monster is down and we are not. Let's continue on."

Chant glared at the puck, "this fool is going to raise our chances of becoming a meal."

Hellish dug his hoof into the dirt and walked up to the group. "We can drop him off at the exit after we get out...but for now we must keep moving. Just push through it."

Chant's tail whipped the air, but he remained silent. As much as he wanted to abandon the stallion now, he knew he couldn't...not with his father right there. Of all coursers...

After a good bit of silence the party managed to wander up to a scene that was by now a sign of dread. Two doors. Two faces. And Chant could feel himself fighting the urge to turn around...however these faces did not seem to be as tricky as before.
Instead of speaking up he stayed silent, looking over to the younger stallion from the corner of his eye.

Arthur was quick to walk past before slowing to a halt when he noticed two different paths. Each one was pitch black, no sigh of danger or wealth...not unless you walked through with a torch.
"Uh...guys? which door?" He turned to ask.

"Mine! Quite obviously mine." The smile cheered.
"Oh how dubious. It's undoubtedly mine." The frowning huffed, tone sad and melancholy.

Arthur's ears went rigid as he watched the two speak. What a strange encounter, intimidating and overwhelming as well. He took a small step back and looked to his father, but Hellish only turned his head away with a disgruntled expression. Father or not, he was not keen to help.

Arthur frowned and looked back at the doors. "Which...which one? Seriously."

Reverend sighed and walked up, "Unfortunately no matter how skilled or dumb these faces are they won't tell you. But if you feel like you might know then walk right through." He grins. "The worst that could happen is we drag you out of a spiked pit."

Arthur looked appalled. "You jest—"

"Ah...no. But I do promise we will drag you out if you happen to fall. Now go on, choose. If you pick correctly then the devil over there might give you quite the praise~" Chang said with a smirk. It was...hard to believe him. And yet Arthur found himself looking between the two doors. Either possible death, or praise from his father. Both risky...but one was worth it. Now...choose!
