Escape and Recovery
As Feyruh and Fang fell asleep for the night, they had unexpected shadows lurking around their camp.
Mr. Snek who was curled on Feyruh’s back was the first to alert late in the night. The serpent hiss and nudged against the bay mares face. After multiple attempts Fey woke up as a rouge band of Coursers can charging towards the small group. Feyruh bolted up realizing they were in deep trouble.
“Fang!” the mare screamed.
Fang the black splash Stallion leapt up startled. Grunting the stallion quickly observed the predicament they were in. ‘FUCK!’ he thought.
“Feyruh, RUN!” He bellowed.
The mare hesitated for just a moment before she flung her reptile companion on her back and RAN. Her legs seem to move of their own accord. She followed the small path they had came down, not looking back to see if Fang was following. She ran and ran…
…
Fang after telling his mate to run, charged at the onslaught. Snorting he reared up and struck at the nearest causing the attacker to go off balance and stumble. The stallion took that moment to land a swift kick to them rendering them unconscious. Fang turned to face the next rouge only to get struck across his right eye. Dazed, the stallion stumbled back feeling the warmth of blood rolling down his cheek. ‘UGH’ the stallion moaned. He took a moment to steady himself and regain his composure. Now only able to see out of one eye, he charged, ramming his head into the side of the second attacker, knocking them off their hooves.
Fang turned on his heels and ran. Ran like his life depended on it - it did. The black stallion moved his legs as fast as he physically could. Light crested over the path as he barrelled towards the cavern entrance.
“Fang!”
“Fang, over here!”
He heard his name called, turning he spotted his love, Feyruh. He slowly approached her panting.
“.. Fang, you're bleeding.” she said, slightly panicked “Come on, lets get you home.”
Feyruh pushed her head against his shoulder and allowed him to lean into her. They pair walked the several miles back into town and to their home.
Upon getting through their threshold, Feyruh dug around gathering supplies. After finding the supplies she went back over to Fang who was now sitting with his head hung low and snoring softly. The stallion fell asleep sitting, the mare chuckled at the sight and went on to cleaning his wound and applied salve to keep it covered and clean.
…
Feyruh continued to bond with her new pet and even thought to get Fang one of his own, a Goose! The creature could eventually aid Fang in battles and adventures. Now with the pair home and away from danger, they took several days to recover and gather their wits. Fang was getting used to being partially blind on his right side.
Now home and recovering, Feyruh thought to get Fang a companion of his own, a goose, to eventually help aid him in battles and adventures. Feyruh continued to bond with her own companion and the pair recovered for several days, while Fang got accustomed to being partially blind on his right side.
