Feyruh and Fang Pt. 2

After walking what seemed like ages Feyruh and Fang can across some loot tucked away in some brush. Feyruh warily approached it, hoping nothing would pop out and eat her. As she came closer to the pile of goodies she saw something wriggle to the left.

The bay mare popped up and stepped back unsure of what to expect, only for a small greenish serpent to come slithering out. A harmless creature. Feyruh settled down as Fang came over to see what the she pony startled about.

“Fey.. did you really let this lil ole snake scare you” Fang chuckled

Feyruh gave him a ‘go to hell’ look in response and approached the creature who stared at them.

“Hello little fella” she spoke softly.

The snake blinked at her and proceeded to slither over to her. The two horses watched the decently sized snake work its way up Feyruh’s leg and settling onto her back.

“Well it looks like we have a new companion and you made a friend!” Fang beamed excitedly.

Feyruh snorted “HIS NAME IS MR. SNEK!”

The raise in her voice startled the white faced stallion. He only laughed at her outburst.

Chatting, two Coursers packed the rest of the goods into the packs they brought and then set off to their makeshift camp.

…

As they neared their small camp made of a couple bed rolls and an unlit fire, they heard hushed whispers, ‘Hurry up… we’re gonna get caught’ followed by a grunt. Feyruh and Fang shared a look. Fang pinned his ears to his head.

“Fey stay here. I don’t want you to end up hurt.” The stallion gave her a look that glued her to the spot she stood before taking off towards the camp. Mr. Snek gave a soft hiss. Feyruh looked at her new friend and whispered in a low voice, barely audible.

“My friend, please go with him, help where you can”

The serpent looked at her with slitted eyes and seemed to nod in understanding before sliding off her back and slithered after the black stallion.

She watched from a crouch position as Mr. Snek wiggled behind one of the unexpected guests. Waiting a few moments, the creature hissed and struck at the heel of the Courser and Fang charged in rearing for a fight. The little band of Coursers yelled and turned towards Fang surprised. With the massive stallion barreling towards them like a raging bull and the small serpent snapping at their feet. The intruders scattered running tails tucked in different directions not daring looking back to see if the pissed off stallion was following.

Feyruh waited several moments to insure they didn’t return before trotting up to the camp to re organized their packs and set up for the night.
