From an early age, Blanche became fascinated with the elusive Dungeon, a dangerous yet wondrous world of its own, far from the monotony of the surface city of [city name] in [realm 1] where she lived. Growing up, it became her life goal to study the underworld and uncover its mysteries, much to her mother’s dismay.

Indeed, Blanche and her two older siblings were supposedly destined to take over the family business: [name] Emporium, a high-end accessory store that the family has owned for generations. The matriarch of the family –her mother’s mother– was particularly insistent that every single member of the family should take part in the business, even those who married into it.

But the young mare had other ideas, and with the support of her father, Blanche was able to indulge her interests and escape the pressures of being part of such a prominent business.

She enrolled into the Gilded Compass Foundation as soon as she turned 18. Their ‘hooves on’ approach to Dungeon study was clearly the better option compared to any surface academy could have offered her. Blanche quickly became known among her peers for her dedication to her craft: disappearing into the Dungeon for weeks at a time, and emerging with brilliant findings on the underworld –be it about its history or ecosystem.

While a number of her papers have been disputed over the years for lack of peer review, Blanche has always had a strong influence within the guild. So naturally, it was to no one’s surprise when she was appointed as Head Archivist after her predecessor retired.

It has only been a year now that Blanche acts as the Head Archivist of the Gilded Compass Foundation, but she already is a reliable and respected leader.
