Theon

Born as the oldest of two twins Theon grew up rough. After his mother died, his father was disinherited under mysterious circumstances. While he had enough wealth to let his family live comfortably, Thean’s father began to buy information, hire spies and even bribe officials who might hold the key to restoring his fortune. This blew through all of their wealth until there was none left and he had to take a job. Having to raise two foals in a dungeon-adjacent town was so difficult that his father cracked.

Now, Thean was old enough to remember his mother and her fights with his father. After his father took up the mantle of captain of the guard, Theon saw his downfall. From a noble knight of a Courser to a drunk captain guard that drank to cope with this pressure. This changed when he joined the guard too at too early of an age. He was good at it, and his dogmatic, relentless pursuit of the truth has earned him the nickname Thunderstepper amongst his peers. His father began to pull himself together. Life got better.

And then his twin sister died. 
As the older brother to a younger twin, Theon took his responsibilities seriously. He tried to save his sister from the physical abuse inflicted on them too. One day he came home to find his father and sister badly wounded. His dad recovered but his sister died. Once his cousin Roule visited him with evidence that something suspicious was going on, diving became his goal. He dives whenever he can, hoping to gather evidence for his cousin, using his nickname as an alias. 

While Theon is driven by a need to reclaim what was unjustly taken, he has one tie to the surface left to him. Roule. After failing to protect his younger sister he is determined to keep his cousin Roule on the right path.
