Luckily they managed to leave the area without waking up the giant. Ravin still felt uneasy and hoped that they would be able to exit the dungeons without needing to head back this way. They remained quiet until they were well away from the giant, with a tacit agreement that not even the pes broke.

Edos stopped the party beside an enclose and everyone sighed with relief.

"Flynn scared, that was crazy," Flynn muttered, "Wonder who he ate to grow so big."

Flynn's statement caused them to chuckle a bit which eased some of the tension. 

"You really can run into anything in this place," Samantha muttered, "I usually think Edos is nagging when he keeps stressing that we need to be prepared but after this ..."

Edos looked  a bit smug but he didn't rub it in.

He rifled in his pack and then started to make his usual updates to the map, while Samantha accompanied by Diego and Isiah went off to scout the area. 

Flynn took this chance to finally sort out all of the loot they had found in the old jail, leaving Ravin to his own devices.

Edos added the areas they had just covered to his map and then made some short notes on how they had managed to traverse them. They had been gone for over three days now and so far they had been extremely lucky. Despite facing challenges, no one was injured and they still had a lot of supplies.

On the downside however, under no circumstances was he will to go back the way they had come to exit the dungeons. 

"How is it looking?" Ravin asked when he saw that Edos was staring at the map for a long time without speaking.

"I am trying to decide what way we should take next which will get us back to the starting area," Edos explained, "I think se should head to the east and try to find a path that leads upwards."

Ravin came over to take a look.

"Hm, you're right. Since we can't go back the way we came then that would be the best options. Also the elevation of the water-logged junction is higher than where we are now."

Edos nodded.

"Flynn is rich! Flynn will buy himself a big fancy meal in town," Flynn announced after he finished rearranging all of the loot in his pack.

"Buy for me too!" Alec screeched in his echoey voice. Then he and Flynn started to bicker when Flynn reminded him that he was a ghost not and couldn't eat anymore.

Samantha came back with a grim expression.

"What's the matter Sam?" Ravin inquired.

"I'll show you all."

The three of them followed behind her. She took them about a quarter mile away from where they had been standing. Here was an overgrown garden. It was probably once very well appointed but that was definitely a thing of the past. 

There air was thick was pollen and plants were glowing strangely. Some of them were equine shaped and Ravin had the bad feeling that it was other adventurers who had not managed to escape.

"This is the way we need to go to get out," Edos muttered, "But I am worried that this area is dangerous and has the ability to trap us here."

"Flynn thinks it is very pretty. It's just sad too that they are dead now," Flynn commented after a moment as staring at one of the 'plant statues'.

"We can't risk going back the way we came and running into that giant," Samantha pointed out, "Let's take our chances and head these way. Everyone just stay alert and let me know if you feel light-headed or sluggish."

"You think it's this thick pollen that did it?" Edos surmised from her words.

"Yes, I collected samples of everything to check later," she explained, "I don't think we should linger in this area overly long."

Edos nodded.

"Alright, everyone, same formation, be sure to inform us if you feel the slightest bit off, let's get through this together!" Edos instructed.

There was the usual chorus of 'Yes General' and then they all set off through the midst of the phantasmal garden, following Edos' lead.
