It was Mac and Terrences’ first time exploring together and they decided to do something daring… go down a completely new, unexplored tunnel. Yes it was dangerous but they had Terrence with them… the guy who thought nothing could go wrong ever in life. Sometimes that mindset is useful but then it comes back to bite them. “So, what do you think so far? Any bad vibes at all?” Mac piped up as they continued through. This tunnel had dark berries, glowing crystals and a small river of water trickling along the left side. 

“Nope! None. Such a cute tunnel, this reminds me of one I went down with my parent as a youngster. We ended up finding a hoard of blackberries and herbs near the end of it!” Terrence responded, jumping ahead of Mac and looking up at the ceiling that continued to leak droplets which ended up joining the water pooling next to them. Mac just scoffed in return and followed after him. He liked his outgoing and happy attitude but sometimes it does get exhausting! 

They picked up the pace but after some time, came to a halt when they began to feel a warmth on their back which grew and grew. They both turned - in possibly the narrowest part of the tunnel - and were confronted with a large human type being with a huge cloak and submerged in red hot flames. It had its sizzling hands reached out, resembling someone asking for something to be placed within them. “What th-?” Mac splurged out, eyes widened with shock, looking over at Terrence who just had a wide smile. “I’ve seen these before! They’re so cool. Just give it something. Maybe something you’re hesitant to part with.” 

Mac’s first thought was the pendant he kept on himself throughout all his journey’s, no matter what. He knew this would be difficult, but he gently took it off and slowly dropped it within the creatures hands, careful not to get singed in return. It closed its fingers around the pendant and squeezed, turning it into a crisp before eventually crumbling it with the ash falling to the gravel beneath them. Mac was gob-smacked and just looked over at Terrence with a drained expression on him. But Terrence’s face was blank… he knew what was coming. 

Within 30 seconds, there was a slight rumble from the ground and the spot where the ash fell, began growing. It sprouted a bright green stem with leaves and eventually some blue and pink florals. Once it had finished, little gems were in the centre of each flower. The fire which was surrounding the being in front of them, calmed down before it disappeared. Mac’s attitude slightly softened and he gasped a sigh of relief, that at least he would be left with something. “It was a test of kindness, you see..” Terrence reassured him. This was a good thing and a reminder to always give to those in need, no matter how they come across.
