Probation was a joke. An absolute joke. Okay, so she had defied orders, but it was in the name of getting everyone back in one piece. Surely that had to account for something? Even if they did come back empty handed, at least they'd gotten out unscathed. Sure, mother hadn't seen it that way, but it was better than letting anyone get hurt in the name of the company. Wasn't that better? Lucia had gone against the words of their party's head, she'd gone against the word of her mother, and she'd gone against the edict of the company... in the name of preventing harm.

"It's their ethics that're fucked... er maybe their morals, you know?" She turned to Capo, an irritated flick of her tail. Annoyed at the circumstance. Annoyed that her mother didn't seem to get it, and was putting profits over people. Annoyance mounting, settling into her skin, resting there for a long while. "You understand me. Pretty sure you're the only one." Grumbling to the beetle where he rest on her shoulder, barely able to stay focused on the task at hand. Just a girl and her dog against the world. Except the girl is the middle daughter of a mercenary company, and her dog is a suspiciously large beetle. Semantics.

An irritated twitch of her ears as she enters another room in the dungeon, inspecting it with a bright gaze. A study of sorts, with a room pulled over the center. "Help me search," it's a request for the beetle, one he answers to with a clicking of his pincers. In the far corner, a crumbling desk with something glimmering atop it. Confidently, Lucia starts to make her way over. The confidence is short lived. Beneath her, the rug gives way. With a squeal, she falls into the pit beneath, the rug falling away entirely in the scuffle. It's all she can do not to panic on the way down, body twisting and contorting awkwardly to avoid the spikes within. One grazes her shoulder, another her flank. Searing pain radiating out from each point, blood already beginning to drip from the wounds.

"Shit!" Every movement from here on out needed to be careful. Incredibly careful. A forest of spikes around her, all of them menacing where they rose from the floor. Mother's words ringing in her ear, chiding. Not cautious enough when it came to her own safety. Too cautious when it came to the safety of others. Is that why she has such a hard time when she's down here alone? No time to dwell on that. She had to focus on getting out of this pit.

Carefully peering through the spikes, it seemed to be some sort of twisted maze. A trap with an answer, or the dungeon presenting her with a puzzle. Lucia grumbles, carefully turning her body so she's parallel to the wall. A narrow gap, but with just enough space to fit. There's a path, but she can't see it from this angle. "Alright Capo, you're up." She looks to her companion, staring down at her from the top of the pit. He had a better vantage point, after all. "One click for right, two clicks for left?" She clacked her teeth, demonstrating and only hoping he understood.

It's slow going as he guides her through the maze, Lucia taking one more jab to the side in the process. She hadn't seen the spike, too focused on the path before her and craning her neck in an attempt to see her companion's direction. Carefully navigating the pit to the other side, though Lucia is limping by the time she arrives. Limping, but alive. A trap door in the floor leading down a dark staircase, it seemed to be the only way out. Treasure on the desk forgotten, she carefully reaches up to invite her companion back onto her shoulder. "Dunno what I'd do without you." Gratitude in her tone, they venture further into the dungeon.
