The three knights had laughed and joked, putting the Aspirant- their very first Aspirant!- at ease as they headed down, down into the dungeons.
Geht’s manner eased as they did, tension leaving his stride.
Smoldering and Brightblaze were fun, he’d decided, joking and nudging eachother as they trailed down into the dark, while Broken-Heart’s split-colour gaze kept a careful watch to their backs.
The Cistern had been a surprise- Smolder pranced forewards, splashing her companions, while Brightblaze complained… and the group continued forwards.
But they were not alone- and as Geht’s head whipped around, fear choking him, the Knights turned all serious.
“Geht, fucking book it-” Brightblaze snarled, catching Smolder’s mane in her teeth as the dark courser turned to confront the mystery beast. The Smoldering Knight snarled, but was pulled along with the group- and the trio followed Geht’s flight, not lingering to see what beast pursued them.
