I waded into the water, my tail purposefully splashing a little up into Wulfes face. "Come on, Wulfe, i KNOW you can move faster than this!" He grinned at me and put on a burst of speed that had him catching up with me within seconds. We had spent the last few weeks on the surface together, either at my little hideaway on the beach, or his wonderful old ruin, and it had honestly been wonderful. He had softened over the weeks, losing that harsh edge he'd had when we had first met, and I considered him my best friend at this point, if not something more. So when Ti and Cal had reached out to ask whether I was feeling up to Dungeon Diving with them again, I had asked if I could bring along my new friend. They'd agreed with no further questions asked, and we'd arranged to meet today, in this cistern that was so, so lovely. I purposefully hadn't told Wulfe much about Ti and Cal, mostly because I LOVE watching unsuspecting Coursers get hit with Cal's charisma when they first meet him. I smiled to myself and sat on one of the benches, and Wulfe sat on the one next to me.
"We're a little early," I said by way of explanation.
"It's no problem. This place is so beautiful."
"Mmmm hmmm," I nodded.
"So, these two Coursers we're meeting.."
I laughed. "You arent gonna get any information out of me. But they are the best. I think you're gonna love them, so relax."
As I said that, I heard splashing from behind me, and turned to see Tiber and Cal coming into the room, laughing about something. They both spotted me and smiled, and then looked behind me and both their faces froze. I looked back and saw that Wulfes mouth had dropped open, his face frozen in shock. Tiber came to life first, and launched forwards at Wulfe, shouting "YOU."
