Morgue swished his tail as he stared up at the massive green and brown shell, his ears pining against his head as he snorts, “Hey! There’s horses tryna walk here!”

He pawed at the shell, hearing the soft cick cick of his hoof against the hollow shell. Seems whatever was sleeping was not wanting to wake up for the travelers on the path they’re blocking.

“Oi!” He snorted, stomping his hoof on the ground before turning around and building up his strength before lashing a powerful kick to the shell.

It rattled with an intimidating force before finally, the softest, beadiest eyes and the saddest expression. With a deep rumble, its prodded out eyes drooped, “M-My apologies….. I have been traveling for so long with my slide size, I-I must have fallen asleep. I’ll move-“

Morgue immediately felt a tinge of guilt nagging at his heart, a soft sigh leaving his lips, “Don’t worry about movin’. Can you at least let me by? I’m…..”

He couldn’t believe what he was about to say, he was glad there was no other horses around.

“I’m sorry for being an asshole….” He apologized with his head hung low, “Will you be kind to let me by?”

The snail perked up, his eyes lifting as he lowered his head down to the horse, which looked like a pony in his large eyes, “Of course, hop onto my head and I’ll lift you over.”

Morgue took a cautious step towards the…. Rather slimy head of the snail, pressing his hooves gently against the snail’s skin and trying not to press any sharp edges into it.

The snail gently lifted it’s head, easing Morgue over to the other side. The stallion slipped off, landing luckily on his hooves as he turned to face the snail he had been so rude to.

“Thank you,” he mumbled, ears dropping in shame as the snail nodded to him.

“Good luck on your travels,” the snail said before easing back into his shell to continue his long, pleasant nap.

Morgue nodded in return, turning and trotting down the path further into the dungeon. Maybe he’ll learn to be a little more compassionate from now on.
