Those lost to time
Hysteria stared blankly at the sight before him. Various scattered bones weren't uncommon sight at this level, though these specific ones seemed unusual to the young Courser. It's not like you could tell at first sight, no, but there seemed almost a purpose to the placement. Human skeleton... With humans, hysteria was familiar, they were strange creatures that once roamed the earth alongside his kind. Or at least that's what he thought. Nobody could be sure anymore after all this time, right? Logue seemed to share his sentiment, sniffing suspiciously around.
"The ornaments around them sure seem nice though" pointed the older adventurer.
"Do they?" thought Hysteria and looked closer at the various coins and other metal... things placed around the skeletons. They weren't sure what the purpose of most of these were, the rest of strange accessories, presumably made with weaker material, lost to time. Granola, curious as ever, also came closer to suspiciously peck at some of these gold pebbles.
"You sure that bringing a goose here was a good idea?" asked Logue, looking slightly amused. His own bat was flapping around nearby, preferring to stay away from trouble.
"Don't see why not, she's capable" they answered shortly. Logue hummed, deciding to drop the subject. "I wonder how they died" he whispered instead.
Hysteria looked at the bones again. Truly, it seemed tragic. They didn't even want to loot the strange coins, feeling too much sympathy for their poor owners (and strange, maybe-ominous vibe, too). Maybe the human was the Courser's strange beloved pet, and that was some sort of a gift? Well, looking closer, they weren't even sure that these were coins. Medallions? Staples? The symbol was also a strange one, pentacle with two Coursers’ heads. Hysteria huffed, perplexed, but untimely couldn't think of any good explanation. Maybe they should both just get up and go the next area already. Frankly, staring too long at bones always gave him an uneasy feeling in his stomach, but these were especially weird to watch. Granola made a quiet little sound and joined their side, hopefully also ready to move on. They smiled at her, remembering when they met for the first time, also in the dungeons. What a small squishy thing like her was doing there? But she saved him, didn't she? Came just in the right time, when he and his companions were losing battle to toxic fumes, like a magical fated intervention. Perhaps Dungeon really has some even deeper secrets.
