After his fortifying meal, Merpus was back on his exploration, determined to go where he's never been before, taking unknown passages and running down stairs he'd never discovered before. At a corner, being his clumsy self, he cut short and didn't even check in front of him. That's when he abruptly met an unknown Courser, violently bumping into him.

"You almost scared me my dude, I mean hi."
Weirdly said Merpus as he stepped back to give the stranger some space.

"May I ask what you are doing so deep in the dungeon all alone ?"
Replied the prideful dark stallion, not even telling his name to the fisher.

"Am lookin' for some pumpkins to cook with my catch."
Indicating the big disturbing fish hanging from his fishing rod held by his ghostly hand.

"I-...Yes, there are indeed some pumpkins growing nearby in the ancient battlefield...This way."
Terrence answered to the weird brindle boy as he turned his back to lead the way down some circular stairs.

They arrived at the top of some ramparts circling a huge deserted battlefield. Between the abandoned gears and skeleton from the past, all covered in moss, there were some very vibrant flowers spreading from the pumpkins scattered in the field. Their petals were almost glowing, an odd captivating light emanating from them. Merpus obviously wanted to see them from a better point of view and instantly spotted a tall tower, he trotted toward it, his little ghost hand wobbling behind him, still holding his precious fishing rod.

"Wait !.."
Terrence tried to warn him but he was already gone. He went to catch him and ran up the stairs with the pumpkin enthusiast but only met him at the top. Merpus was gazing across the battlefield, his whole self being absorbed by the flowers. He slowly began to hear some strange noises all around him but he couldn't move. It got louder and louder, he could hear the screams of terror, the swords crashing into each other, the shambles of what once was a terrible battle where nobody left victorious. His eyes began to be watery and the poor stallion began to cry, as if he could feel all that suffering. Terrence got closer to him and told him in a reassuring voice.

"You see, it's not the ideal time to come gaze upon this field. Seems like the flowers always bloom at this time of the year and tell us about the past. You get used to it eventually.."

You come across a partially-collapsed tower, perilous but possible to climb. After spirals and spirals of half-eaten stone steps, you make it to the roof. Over the top of the parapet, the entire battlefield is visible, and the wreckage is more vast than you had ever imagined. You cannot see a patch untouched. How do you feel when confronted with the true scope of the destruction?

I think he won't be eating any for a while
