[DD2] Compassion for a creature
The two had been travelling through the furnace for a bit now, Crispin lagging behind the armour-clad courser. He had been pleasantly surprised with the courser's skills, however, he was still wary and considered the dun a showboat more so than having any actual chance in the dungeon.
Though when they had come upon a salamander that had strayed too far from the lava, he held his tongue as he watched the other nudge it, only to pick it up between their teeth. They would surely tuck it away to sell or use later, right? They hadn't proven themselves with any compassion yet, after all.
Much to the grey's surprise, Hund would do no such thing. Dutifully and carefully carrying it back to the lava, Hund would slowly release the salamander back into it's natural habitat. The heat lapping at their sensitive muzzle as they would do so, whiskers singing as well. Hund couldn't just drop the salamander in, leaving it in shock, after all.
The salamander would seem grateful, wiggling off with a newfound life once it had regained it's senses.
Crispin would shake his head, gazing at the dun. "You okay there? You didn't burn yourself, did you?" He would inquire, as he'd move closer to Hund.
"No I'm.. I'm fine. Just burnt a few whiskers."
"Salamanders are valuable to sell as alchemical components, but they are also overhunted and becoming scarce. You find one that has strayed too far from the magma, its skin beginning to cool and harden. It would be easy to capture it like this. What do you do?"
Show it compassion.
