With a skip in his step, Tamsin trotted along a well-worn hallway. Squeezing through a narrow gap, they smiled as their flank brushed up against an old scrape of Courser armour. Although he still felt rather lonely in the empty halls, the small signs of previous occupants, those who had travelled before him, were comforting, in their own way.

On the sharp corner of the wall, Tamsin added his own mark, stamping down a hoof to scrape off a little bit of crumbling stone, as if he'd misstepped. Now the next behind him would see the evidence of his passing.

Satisfied, he continued down the hallway, humming under his breath, skirting around a pile of rubble until he paused, seeing something out of the corner of his eye. A dull chanfron lay perched awkwardly on the side of the stones, looking as if it would slide and slip free at any moment.

"Looks just my size," Tamsin commented to himself… although it was likely untrue. The chanfron looked as if it belonged to a larger Courser, someone bulky and well-grown. Kensa had always said 'one day you'll grow into those big hooves Tamsin'… he'd never been quite sure if she believed it. But he'd taken those words to heart.

Nosing forward toward the chanfron, nudging it carefully. It seemed to be… stuck? Maybe it was heavier than he thought? If it was this heavy he wouldn't likely be able to wear it (not that that thought was going to change his intention to add it to his gear and carry it along with him as a prize).

The chanfron wobbled. Wobbled? It wasn't supposed to-

With a cry, Tamsin jumped back, as the chanfron sprouted legs. Too many legs, orange and hard, covered in knobbly growths. Black eyes blinked at him inside the horse's armour, making a mockery of how it was supposed to look. And then it ran towards him, racing on sharp little points, skittering down the pile of rubble towards his hooves.

'Run' was not a word Tamsin would have thought was previously in his vocabulary. The dungeon, however, was making him question a good many things. Their hooves thundered on the cobblestones, fleeing onward and away from the freaky, possessed chanfron.

At least, that was the story Tamsin would tell later, rather than admitting he had been spooked by a crab.

You hear tinkling beside you as a Courser’s chanfron tumbles – no, *scuttles* across the cave floor. Upon further inspection it is being used as a shell by a massive crustacean. How do you react?

Best hope Tamsin doesn't come across any spiders - turns out he doesn't like things with too many legs.
