[DD2] Teeth are helpful for lots of things
Teeth clacking against each other would sound over the silence, the wobbly.. 'foals' attention having been drawn to a darkening shape on the floor.
It's ears would flicker, listening to it's surroundings before he'd trot closer to what it now had deemed a living critter. It's long, awkward maw twisting into an almost grin, lips drawing back and exposing it's far too many teeth. It's small hooves clicking against the hardened floor, the heat hardly seeming to bother it.
The critter seemed to be cooling rapidly, though before he could grab ahold of the thing between his jaws a voice ringing out would stop him, twisting his neck uncomfortably far to look over it's shoulder. The shape the voice came from was large and white, with brightly coloured eyes to match. The Crispin. The not-it that swarmed around the Creature and it's not-it's.
"DON'T EAT THAT!"
The not-it's voice grated against it's ears, causing it's ears to go flat as it sneered. Accompanied by a long drawn out whine from it's chest, stomping it's hooves against the stone in protest of the large not-it's words.
"I swear to the surface if you eat that I am never, ever, babysitting you again!"
Crispin's voice would come out in an almost desperate tone, staring at.. whatever this beast was. Oh he should've never agreed to watch over him. He should've known this was a bad idea after meeting.. Creature.
Teeth would twist it's thin neck back towards the rapidly cooling critter on the floor, a huff leaving it's nostrils before it'd bend down and wrap it's jaws around the animals body.
"Teeth. Drop it."
Crispin's voice growing ever more desperate, though his voice would fall on deaf ears.
Drool dripping from it's maw and coating the critter's form, though the Teeth would carefully bring it over to the pool of lava, dropping the salamander back in. Clicking happily as it'd trot on the spot, it's little tail wagging akin to that of a dogs.
"Salamanders are valuable to sell as alchemical components, but they are also overhunted and becoming scarce. You find one that has strayed too far from the magma, its skin beginning to cool and harden. It would be easy to capture it like this. What do you do?"
Bring it back to the pool, why of course!
