[EASY] Not Them, PLEASE
TOULOUSE POV-
He looked around the room at several other Coursers, waiting to be assigned to a group. "You're an idiot for this", Toulouse thought to himself. As he scanned each Courser, he subconsciously analyzed them. He made note of a couple of Coursers who sported scars as badges of honor and hoped he'd be paired with them. His gaze shifted to the battle-ready appearing Coursers. They sported exquisite packs that looked incredibly sturdy and full of useful items and tools. The things that caught his eye the most about them though, was the assortment of weapons fixed to their sides. "I need to get some of those", he thought as he made a mental note.
Looking around the room futher, he spotted two Coursers chatting away. One was a vibrant purple. It looked aloof an unprepared. "Certainly not", Toulouse muttered under his breath. The other conversing courser was like none Toulouse had ever seen before. It had a bright yellow coat and extremely long ears. Toulouse could see the utter excitement spread across their expression. He shook his head, "Whatever gods or wizards or whatever is up there, PLEASE don't pair me with these two", he thought. A booming voice pulled him from his mental critiques and notes. Toulouse turned his head to the voice and raised his ears. It was a Mercenary Courser, explaining the terms of this particular event. Once he went over the general hazards, he began grouping Coursers together. Toulouse watched as parties were made and them advance into the Dungeon. Would they ever get to him?
"Errr, Lorne, Sybil.... and Touloose? Toulouse? I'm not sure how to say that. Whoever you are, you three are a party. Best of luck and may the Dungeon and Wizard shine their luck and blessings upon you.", the Mercenary Courser spoke. Toulouse watched as the pair from earlier made their way to the exit of the room. "SON OF A BITCH", Toulouse thought to himself as he watched them walk forward. "These two are the last I wanted to be paired with", he mumbled under his breath as he walked to meet what was now the other members of his party.
His expression must have been obviously a displeased one as he approached them. He watched as they looked him up and down.
"What? Were we not what you were expecting?", the purple Courser spoke.
"Not in the slightest.", Toulouse snapped back.
"Well, we're all paired up now, so we may as well make the best of it. I'm Sybil. This is my first Campaign mission.", the yellow Courser spoke.
"I suppose. But don't expect me to come to your rescue when you're the damsel in distress. I'm Lord Toulouse, but you can just call me Toulouse.", he replied back.
"Lorne", the purple Courser spoke up. "Now that introductions are out of the way, let's get on with it."
The trio began their advancement into the Dungeon. They weren't given any instruction other than "Things here are dangerous, just uh, try not to die". Lorne took the lead with Sybil following closely beside her. Toulouse remained at the back. He wished he'd have brought Oie along, but figured the situation to dangerous. Smart thinking he thought to himself.
LORNE POV-
She had taken the lead on this expedition. Sybil bounded beside her as they advanced deeper into the Dungeon. She occasionally would check over her shoulder for the rude "Lord" accompanying.
"Syb, what's his deal?", Lorne asked her friend.
"Honestly Lo, I have no idea. He didn't even try to get to know us. Our survival depends on all of us participating and looking out for one another. He blantantly said he wouldn't help us if we got into trouble".
"Ugh I know. I'd like to say that I wouldn't help him, but I couldn't live with that on my conscience. Hopefully there won't be much trouble and we can just get by, grab some loot, and get the fuck out of here".
"I hope so too Lo. Maybe he will warm up a bit as we continue. I mean I know I couldn't just plod back there alone and not speak to anyone for hours.", Sybil quietly chuckled.
"I guess we'll see Syb".
TOULOUSE POV-
He watched as the two mares had a conversation. Toulouse was certain they were gabbing on about him. "Who cares", he thought to himself. Little did they know they were traveling with someone who had an expanded knowledge of the Dungeon. He knew the signs and he'd pick them up before they would. The group separated occasionally to peek into different chambers for loot, and he was grateful for the break from them. They reminded him of two schoolgirls with nothing better to do but gossip. He didn't have time for that. He was feeding the flame that burned inside of him for this place. The place he left his family and everyone he knew and cared for behind.
As the group reunited, Toulouse took the lead. He took careful and calculated steps through the Dungeon. They were getting into more dilapidated and dangerous areas. Toulouse took a right into a long cavern. He glanced quickly behind him to ensure the members of the party didn't stray or take the wrong turn. There was something strange about this cavern. His nose picked up on a smell, but he was unsure of what it was. He proceeded ever so cautiously.
As the trio made their way through the cavern, something stopped Toulouse dead in his tracks. He squinted and turned his ears towards the creature, trying to discern what it was. He could hear the two behind him whispering, questioning why he had stopped. He stared at the creature for a few moments and noticed it was rather large and lacked hair of any kind. He observed as it twitched every so often.
"Toulouse. What is it? Will you tell us what's going on?", Lorne whispered in a harsh tone.
"It's some kind of big, hairless creature. I think it's asleep. Our presence hasn't seemed to bother it.", he whispered back in a soft tone.
"Well what are we going to do? The cavern goes further.", Sybil questioned.
"I think we may could sneak past it. There's a slim opening behind it, but I think it's wide enough we could slip through undetected.", Toulouse answered.
"Well, LORD Toulouse, how are we going to slip through?", Lorne asked sarcastically. Toulouse rolled his eyes.
"I'll go first. Watch me go through and replicate my steps exactly. If we can all do this, we can make it past. But remember what I said before we started. You get into trouble, I'm not risking my hide to save yours. Be smart, be quick, and most importantly BE QUIET."
The girls nodded their head and watched Toulouse as he began slipping by. Toulouse got a good look at the creature as he moved slowly along. "To be hairless this bastard sure does reek", he thought as he crept directly behind it. Once safe, he looked at the creature to ensure it was still asleep. He motioned for the next one to move through the pass. After what felt like a decade, Sybil stood beside him and motioned Lorne to go ahead.
Toulouse breathed a quiet sigh of relief, unaware he was holding his breath slightly.
"Well, we all made it. Let's hope it doesn't wake up before we get out of here", Toulouse mumbled, turning to face the continuation of the cavern.
[EASY] Not Them, PLEASE
At the far end of this cavern, a huge and hairless creature is crouched in silence. It twitches occasionally, perhaps asleep, but does not seem to notice your presence. With its muscular back turned, you may be able to sneak past…
