Seeking the Blessing of The Harvest Moon

This nigth finds me in the forest between Edos' camp and one of the smaller farms. i had ventured out alone to practice harnessing my inner energy without the mistrutful gaze of some of Edos' men. While Edoa welcomed me with open arms, not all his little band of warrior steeds felt the same way. I was not angry with them, I understood it.

They saw me as an unknown threat at best, a drain on resources and perhaps even a spy.

Edos was barely controlling his anger with them, so they had gone from overt comments to sly looks and whispers behind my back.

I needed this reprieve, so I set out alone.

Little did I know that my impromptu trip coincided with the rise of the Harvest Moon. When the full red moon reigned in the sky, I stepped out into a clearly to bathe in it's shimmering rays.

The Harvest Moon calls to me. it has always been one of the biggest driving forces of my life ..even the life before when I was a the Head Druid, the Harvest Moon signaled the beginning of our season of merriment.

Now as a courser, it affects me as never before. I feel it more deeply, my every breath seems to circle the energy of this reddened moon through out my whole body. I have not yet fully adapted to this equine life. I try not to think about it, to focus on learning to wield this new body as a weapon so that I can make a good living her as a dungeon diver.

Now though, I can feel every pair of me, each strand of my tail, every inch of my mane. All of me is infected with this feeling of newness.

"Aren't you afraid?"

I was startled and cast my gaze around but I didn't see anything. I was sure I had heard someone, and after my experience with the pots, I wondered if it was a rock or even a tree.

"Afraid of what?" I asked out loud. Still being vigilant.

"The Harvester is coming...."

I was new here, so I didn't know much about the Gods and the Demons of this realm, but I had heard Edos mention that he worshipped the God of Harvest before though he hadn't specified the name, only mentioning it passing.

Thinking on this... I shook my head.

"I am not afraid," I said aloud.

There was no answer. The wind picked up and the rustle of the leaves created a backdrop of my still fluttering heartbeat.

I eyed the moon and then closed my eyes.

If the harvester be near, let him come. I have nothing to give but myself, perhaps by the next Havest I would have my own house and be able to plant crops.

I still could give an offering however. I rummagd through my pack and found that Edos had stuffed some apples in there when I wasn't looking.

My heart went out to him and I couldn't keep from pracing a bit in delight.

I select the biggest ones and placed them on a treestump.

After that I bowe my head and sent up a solemn thank you to the moon. and asked for a special blessing for Edos.

When then was done, I headed back to the camp.
