[HARD] Four Enter - Wulfe, Kraken, Torito
- Wulfe -
Goddamn ghosts. I was lying in a room that was half filled with sand. I'd just managed to evade the ghost Courser in the massive arena, though not before he took a chunk out of my flank. I'd already known that I really needed to rest, but I'd thought I could find somewhere a little comfier. Then before I knew it, I'd been trapped in that arena. Once I'd gotten past the ghost, I'd ended up in this chamber, which I had checked very closely for traps and then decided the soft sand was as safe a place to sleep as any.
I pulled my soft blanket around me to keep myself warm, as I ate a couple of fig and honey biscuits. The dungeons aren't any place to wander alone, but every attempt I'd made to try to gather a party had failed. I couldn't understand how I could be this bad at making friends. Especially after hearing of Callisto's reputation, how could he gather friends effortlessly and I was left with none? I sighed, the sand stirring under my breath. I won't allow myself to wallow in self pity. Time to sleep, I thought, and we can decide what to do in the morning.
- Kraken -
My leg was almost healed now. The pale green bandage wrapped around it was a gift from Callisto, who had felt bad that he and Tiber were going back into the dungeon without me, even though I'd been the one to insist. I wasn't willing to hold them back just so that I didn't miss out. But now that my leg had healed up, I figured I could head on into the dungeon, as a test - if my leg was still too bad, I'd figure it out early enough to be able to get back to the surface without getting lost, and if my leg stayed well, I'm certain I could find Tiber and Callisto down here. So far my leg was holding up, and I was delighted. While I have no issues being on the surface and relaxing on my beach, I miss my friends. I was walking while thinking about all of this, and I suddenly realised that the sound of my hoofbeats had changed. I looked down and realised that the floor was getting sandy. Uh oh. The entrance to the next chamber was just up ahead, and I edged over to it nervously before sticking just my head inside to check what was in there. Just as I'd thought, the massive arena awaited me, currently empty and silent, just waiting for me to step in to activate the trap and summon the ghost. Like hell I would. I turned in the narrow corridor, making sure that no more of me crossed the threshold, and somehow managed to catch my tail in a jagged rock. Grumbling to myself, I tugged my tail free, leaving behind a few hairs, and set off back down the corridor at a trot. I'd find another way around the arena.
- Torito -
I looked at everything around me as I waited for Madoc. He'd gotten excited about some herbs that he'd found in the corridor we just came through, and I was still waiting for him to gather them up and catch up to me. Ox was warm on my back, nestled in her usual place. I considered waiting a little longer, but I was too restless for that. Ah, sod it. I chose a passageway ahead, and set off down it at a steady walk. The passage was made of stone, with moss gathered in massive bunches. It was a narrow passage, and I was worried that if it got narrower, I'd get stuck. My size, which is almost always a boon on the surface, is often a hindrance in the Dungeons. My hoofbeats sounded so loud in here, reverberating with every step. I noticed the sand up ahead, and how it covered the entire floor of the passage. I also heard hoofbeats behind me, and recognised it as Madoc, cantering along to catch up to me.
"Finally done with your herbs?"
"Mmmmhmmmm" came his reply, and without turning i knew he'd be wearing a sheepish grin. Shaking my head, we carried on, until I stopped next to a jagged rock right by the entrance to the next chamber. There were some black tail hairs caught on it. I squeezed to the side so that Madoc could take a look.
"Definitely Heraldic hairs, and how many of those could be wandering around down here? I think our little Lark might be close." Said Madoc.
That was good enough for me. I entered the next chamber, Madoc close on my heels, and didn't even glance around when the passage entrance slammed shut behind us. The Dungeon loved to do things like that. I took in the scene before me. An arena, with seats all around it filled with shadowy figures. They were no threat, so I ignored them. Within the arena, sections of the sand were covered in dry blood, and the whole place was dominated by a ghostly Courser that was appearing to size us up. He would appear massive to some, but I was already massive. I grinned as I looked over at Madoc.
"Finally, I can pick on someone my own size."
Madoc grinned back, and we launched forward, burning for the fight.
