[DD3] Strohmeier - DD #7-6

Still a bit shaken up from the bad dream and exhausted from the lack of sleep, Strohmeier very slowly started packing his things up to continue the adventure. Crispin looked at him with a gentle smile.

“The moor messed with you, did it not?” he asked with a compassionate tone.

Strohmeier sighed and paused for a moment, trying his best to shake the remnants of the dreams out of his head. All he wanted to do was to forget. He could still almost hear and see the dreams in front of him when he closed his eyes, and it felt just as awful as when he had experienced it. He didn't know what to do.

“I would say that's an understatement.” he eventually replied as he finished packing and started to put his spiky armour back on. “I'd rather not talk about any of it though. It was awful enough to have those dreams in the first place.”

“Fully understandable. The moor is no easy place to be in for a long period of time. Just know that this is perfectly normal.” Crispin said to assure Strohmeier that he wouldn't force him to talk about anything he didn't wish. “Do you feel ready to explore further?”

“Thank you. And yes, I believe so. No point in procrastinating.” Strohmeier responded and headed towards the exit, and Crispin followed right behind.

The two of them moved on towards some other ruins nearby to scavenge and explore, Strohmeier was hoping he could find something of value to bring back as a token of sorts to prove that he had indeed been all the way down here. He didn't want anything big or fancy, just something small.

Strohmeier started to rummage around in some containers, while Crispin was mostly keeping guard to make sure nothing would follow them in. He also kept an eye on Strohmeier, just to make sure he was doing okay.

“Are you hoping for anything in particular?” the gray dunskin asked, both out of curiosity and to not have to endure the deafening silence of the moor.

“Not necessarily. Would just be fun to find some jewelry or something like that. Small and easy to display.” Strohmeier replied and just as he was about to take up his head to look at Crispin, he accidentally dunked his head into an upper shelf in a bookshelf. “Ouch..”

Crispin did his best to hold in a snicker, but he couldn't fully conceal his amusement. Strohmeier looked at him with a slightly grumpy gaze, but he knew it must have looked quite funny so he wasn't too mad. He took a step back and suddenly an amulet fell off of the top of the bookshelf. Curious that it was hidden up there, he thought.

He bent down to pick it up but froze in place for a second. The symbol on it.. It looked very similar to his own coat of arms. He found it a bit odd, but then again, he didn't come up with the design himself, and whoever had designed it must've found their inspiration from somewhere.

“Hey Crispin. This looks a lot like my coat of arms, wouldn't it look really fancy if I wore them both?” Strohmeier asked his guide as he picked it up to show it.

Crispin carefully examined the amulet and nodded in agreement. It would indeed look very good, he was sure of it.

“I can help you and attach it. Where would you like it?”

“Maybe at the side of my chanfron?” Strohmeier suggested, and Crispin delicately helped to tie it there so it was dangling nicely by the dark courser's cheek.

“Looks stunning. Good find.” Crispin complimented him, and Strohmeier couldn't help but smile.

“Thank you, and thanks for the help.”

“Don't mention it. I am happy to be of assistance.”
