[DD2] Flame trap

If Fetch hadn’t been leading Daisy through the Earthen Furnace, Daisy surely never would have seen her precious plants again.

Not that the plants would have minded, of course.

Together, Daisy and Fetch were the perfect silly pair—both had a sort of whimsy about them, and they both respected the dungeons more than the surface world, though Fetch was much more familiar with the furnace than her counterpart.

Extremely lucky that was the case, because it was not more than 2 minutes into their trip that Daisy set off a trap.

Risky as it was, the pair decided that timing and chance would be their way through the intermittent bursts of flame coming from the floor.

More built for watering plants all day than dodging plumes of fire, it was no surprise that Fetch was much nimbler than Daisy.

It was quite embarrassing.

The more senior adventurer crossed the trap first—when she turned around, Fetch had full view of Daisy, who was yelping and hopping away from the fire like she were jumping away from a surprise spider.

Truth be told, Daisy had never come into the Furnace at all, and she was very frustrated: her mane had burned.

Everything ULTIMATELY was fine, with the only damage going to Daisy’s hairdo and ego.

Nothing seemed to deter Fetch.

The older courser confirmed that Daisy was ok, and immediately took off again, intent on finding the rare seeds that they had promised to take Daisy to.

first letter of each sentence...

As you enter a narrow corridor, your hoof lands on a loose cobble and triggers a trap. Intermittent flames thrust up from the vents lining the floors. Courser be nimble – how do you make it to the other side?
