[DD1] Naming Plants
“Galatea….” Daisy liked the word. It sounded soft and feminine. Where some might find the abandoned, bone ridden camp to be creepy, Daisy was unbothered. She’d seen the carved stone and glided right up to it. Her mind wandered to what it could mean. The name of a knight? A princess? Maybe an artist or something unimaginable entirely. The mystery was half the fun. Even after she’d left the camp far behind, Daisy’s mind wandered back to the strange word, and when she slept that night, she dreamt of all the fantastical things it could mean. The next morning, Daisy decided to name one of her plants Galatea. It wasn’t unheard of for Daisy to name or even speak with her plants while she tended to them. Daisy picked a large Sundew plant—one big enough to entrap a foal. The sundew plan was long tall and elegant. Perfect for the name Galatea. After purchasing some supplies from the ranger, and scavenging for scrap wood, Daisy carefully and meticulously copied the exact script from the Galatea carving from the camp. She stuck the plaque into the dirt at the sundew’s base and refused to sell the plant. She was rather fond of it after all.
You find yourself in an odd corner of the caverns with what look like the remains of an old camp. Besides the iron cookery and dust-filled humanoid armor, you feel that if you touched any of it, it might buckle under the weight of time. Carved into the stone is a strange word: GALATEA. What do you make of this?
