[MEDIUM] Time for Discovery
“ I told you already, there is nothing special about this pendant. I like how it looks, besides, everyone needs some emergency funds if shit gets real. That’s that. ” - the pale stallion marched in rhythm with the clocking echoing through the halls of the underground maze. At first the team of four was hesitant to enter the ruins, however after careful consideration, meaning Caspian just walked ahead and no trap was triggered, the party decided to move forward with the exploration. Down in the dungeons time can be tricky to predict accurately, and what seems like solid hour might just be a couple of minutes. And vice versa. Fow how long did the adventuring group found the path through the labyrinth-like structures, only the Maker could tell. No wonder the monotone clicking of the clock mechanism became as natural as hearing the sound of their hooves walking. Well into countless sluggish minutes, mayhaps for the first time ever, Caelum found something to genuinely bother their leader.
Caspian was hesitant to share any valuable information about himself. One one hand, he was afraid it would be used against him in one way or another. On the other hand he felt embarrassed to open up to others. What would it make his carefully constructed persona of confidence and masculinity if he was to talk about soppy topics and his feelings? Who cared after all. People might pretend to do so, but it was either an act or common courtesy. Given this reason with his best abilities he tried to dodge such conversation, which unsurprisingly proved to be quite difficult, when one is closed in with such pesky individuals as this corpse blue stallion. Not even did he look like some fragile lady of a noble household, he sure acted that way as well.
It was not only Caelum who found interest in hearing more about Caspian’s carefully hidden weaknesses. Drakes was more attentive of the ongoing conversation, than his surroundings. Not unlike was the gloomy and mysterious northerman, who while had the same, emotionless face as ever, kept one of his ears on the chatter.
“ Is that so? Then, I reckon you would not mind if this humble me takes a closer inspection, would you? “ - Swift and elusive like a mouse, the agent of the Argent Dawn snaked his way up to the pale stallion and pressed his face closer to the peculiar stone.
“ Hey, HEY, no touching! If you were to damage it, he would… tsk, how about we focus on the mission ahead? ” - with a clicking of his tongue, sulking, he galloped ahead, gaining distance and leaving behind the other three. No matter, as this was his loss. Satisfied yet still curious, the others exchanged glances to acknowledge their success. Only then was the silence screaming louder than any noise. When exactly did the clockwork stop?
Halting , ears peaked in every direction, they listened. Slowly but steadily something was occupying the newfound silence, echoing through the void and being louder and louder with every bounce.
“ What … is that? “
