With measuring eyes did the three adventurers stand in front of the memory of an ancient time. Stones were the only thing remaining from the era before and even in ruins, standing as a world lost to time.Even with his simple mindset and lack of interest for anything bigger than mundane daily struggles, Drakes could not help but wonder. Growing his bushy brows he tried to judge if the half eaten stairs could support his weight, the robust stallion’s thoughts kept drifting. Similar was the scale of the castle standing tall over the rolling grassfield, housing and protecting his once Lord. The mist soaked stones became so  familiar to his eyes, that after many moons of knowing not but tight caves and burning hell pits Drakes truly appreciated the view offered. How tranquil this mist shrouded moorland looked, yet lonesome was the tower having this comforting quiet only to itself.

Stealing a peak at his companions, Fetch appeared to share his sentiment. Lost in her thoughts, the quirky mare was lost to words, offering space for the daydreaming to occupy her attention. Even her, who often appeared to be uninterested to the sight of ruins, dungeoneering since the day she was young, a shiver ran through the spine of the tall stallion. Standing in front of something bigger than life, this thought was too far fetched to him, unable to even comprehend it properly.

Surely, Caspian had to at least recognize some of the importance they are just witnessing. Or not. A pale flash and a gust of wind was what was seen of the stallion, as Cass leaped high over the rumples of a wall and found solid footing on the start of the stairs. - “ Well, looks steady enough for now. Try not to ruin our only way back. ” - said with a rotten smirk, looking down on his companion, the rogue raising his front hoof smacked the stone beneath him to demonstrate his statement. After an era of undisturbed slumber, the tower replied in kind, with a rumble and rubbles falling behind. Fetch could dodge the incoming avalanche of stones, however Drake took them with his alike strong forehead. Frowning even more at the pale stallion even without words, he was sure his message was clear as the cloudless sky.

“ As I said. Steady enough. Now onto the highs. ” - learning nothing of the situation, the leader of the party ventured forth, climbing the stairs before his companion. Fetch quickly followed, nimble on her steps, catching quickly up to the pale stud. With a sour mood did Drake follow at a more leisurely pace, gaining one more grey hair every time the stones shook under his heavy hooves. After an ascend of an eternity, losing his breath he made it to the top. His companions were already there, standing like sculptures and staring down. The pearl hued knight wondered what was powerful enough to silence Caspian and taking just a few more steps he had to wonder no more.

A barren and savage sight welcomed him, as the mist slowly rolled across the battlefield. Weapons slowly eaten by rust, bones overgrown by the grass and an eerie silence was the possible reason for desolation. WHoever claimed this land before, was no more.

Caspian gazed below, never seeing such a scale of death and decay before was stunned. Poor bastards died for someone else and now their life was as meaningless as the reason they offered it. “ Well, looks like we missed the party. The mood died down quite a bit. ” - being unfazed, he shrugged his shoulders and was already thinking of the coins, jewellery and other valuables the dead were still holding on, waiting for them to put them to a better use.
