The Pthalo stallion wandered away from the cathedral walls for just a few moments, watching the coursers that had gathered in the lawn at the forefront of the makeshift church. The stained glass bouncing rainbows off of the cavern floor with the smallest bit of sunlight pouring through the rocky ceiling. It filled Adder with a sense of pride, to be a part of Mother Engracias' story: To fulfill what was empty and restore who was lost.

After listening to the conversations and whispering words outside of the cathedral, Adder felt like he had had enough, not really hearing anything of substance. With his large serpant, held snug around his neck, he ventured off into the overgrown cavers, hoping to find a courser fit for Mother's wishes.

Eve flicked her serpant tongue out, tasting the air to assist in her owner's quest, Adder awaiting any signs of worthy beings. Unfortunately what either of them couldnt watch out for, was a cleverly hidden pit, with multiple protruding spikes waiting for them below. The stallion desperately tried to claw his way back up, but to no avail. Adder cried out and hissed as some of the spikes pierced his flesh, some only scathing the skin, but nonetheless injuring him. Cursing under his breath, he was able to shakily stand upright, doing his best to avoid anymore spikes and standing around them. Dammit. This would make him look weak. He knew he wasnt strong, and they also knew thats not the type of potential Mother saw in them, but all he wanted was to please her and make her proud, and returning with all of these injuries would be so inconvenient.

Adder let out a shaky and exasperated sigh and looked up from where he had fallen. Luckily Eve was unscathed, and looked down at her master from above, looking for a way to help the wounded stallion from the pit.
