[DD1] Quiet Just in Case

Hecuba knew that as long as something was sleeping, it wasn't dangerous- be that another courser or whatever beasts roamed the caverns. Additionally, she also knew that if she kept her volume down, she would be able to maneuver past the bats without any issue.

She wondered why she even took this much precaution when she started walking, her hooves barely making any noise on the floor of the cavern. Even if the bats were the vampire kind, when was the last time she heard of someone getting bitten by a vampire bat, let alone by a swarm of them?

Still, it was better safe than sorry. Plus, if she came back to the guild house covered in vampire bat bites, no doubt it'd lead to an embarrassing conversation with Karellian. She didn't need that man having any more reasons not to let her wander the dungeon alone, let alone one that made her sound like she was at risk.

One of the bats shuffled in place as Hecuba passed it, and she gave a small huff at the sight, not wanting to admit that it frightened her just a little bit. There was no need to worry, as all the bats stayed in their slumber the entire time Hecuba passed through their tunnel.

She hoped they'd still be sleeping when she came back around.

Your way forward looks clear at first glance, but a look at the cave ceiling reveals hundreds of bats inverted in slumber. They might be harmless Painted Bats, but they could also be blood-sucking Draculas. What do you do?
