[DD2] Journal Entry Two - Mosaic
An odd event happened earlier. I am alive, since I am the one writing this, but it is odd nonetheless.
As Logue and I were walking through an open part of the furnace, the rocks beneath us began to tremble and crack, and much to our amazement seemed to be alive in some odd magical way. The rocks beneath our feet began chipping off, leaving us to run to safety. Upon looking back, a massive serpent formed, towering over everything. This serpent was odd, to say the least. Its body seemed to either be made of, or dripping, molten magma. Lava flowed off of it. It seemed oddly satisfied, but that could have just been because Logue shit himself. It seemed to be alive, moving, hissing, and even hunting.
It grabbed a small lava creature and simply ate it whole. After that, it seemed to calm down, but its veins popped out. It seemed to be made of lava, with lava for blood.
Maybe due to the pressure, or the lava creature it ate, a vein near its head popped. Lava poured out from the serpents wound. It gave a small cry and dove under the lava.
It never came back, and the floor from where we were once standing was still cracked, lava pushing through the cracks. I assume next time I see that place, the lava will have hardened. It will look a little odd, but it will seem as though nothing ever happened there. The memories forgotten. Well if it weren’t for this entry at least.

The magma beneath you seems to roil, causing tremors beneath your hooves. Suddenly, the crust bursts, and a massive serpentine shape arcs itself into the next pool of lava, its body oozing with molten rock. Is this monster alive? Is it some sort of magic?
