Bella confidently left the comfort of her new home in the dungeon so search fo adventures. She occasionally got what she thought was just intrusive thoughts, as she had more or less already forgotten about the parasitic entity that had attached itself to her head. It told her to seek out others, to hurt them, to make them suffer for its gain. She didn’t mind any of the things the parasite, Belial, was telling her, though she was quickly disrupted from any ideas or actions she had in mind.

In front of them was a pedestal, on top of it, a chest. Considering the mossy surroundings and the chest looking so clean, Bella knew something about it couldn’t be trusted. She took a step forward and accidentally kicked something on the ground in the process. She looked down, it was an unnaturally pale bone, it looked to be a rib from a courser such as herself. She looked back up at the chest and squinted, and for a second she could swear it was breathing.

“We must investigate.” Belial said out loud. Bella was a little taken aback since the voice came from her own mouth, but she obliged to Belial’s words and approached the suspicious looking chest.

Just as she was in front of it, the mimic arose from its resting place, revealing a tall, scrawny humanoid body with long, lanky limbs. Bella’s eyes grew wide and she froze in place. That thing was much taller than her and could surely eat her if it so wished.

“You. You’re coming with us.” Belial ordered the mimic chest.

The chest looked down at the courser, curious about why it didn’t flee. It felt no need to attack either, despite its nature. It simply nodded, and awaited further instructions from its new master.

“Good. You shall be named Beel.”
