[DD3] Ghosts
Silas's favorite amongst the dungeons was currently the Moor of sleep. It was intriguing. It was so vast and although it was technically underground, it felt like he was outside somehow. It was all so mysterious to him as well. War torn grounds looking like they're recovering, interesting stories around every corner and odd encounters. To be fair, it was mostly the same for the other dungeons, but the Moors felt different to him, it was a different kind of mystery.
Inspecting a particular slab of stone with engravings he suddenly heard hurried hooves clopping towards him, and as he turned around he could see it was Logue with their Bat friend.
"What's wrong?" Silas asked, quickly making sure His own Moth friend was in sight, and then started to look around, but he didn't see anything particularly threatening.
"I saw a specter further down that way" Logue spoke hurriedly, pointing to a grassy hill further ahead with his head.
"Follow me" Silas was confused but followed. Logue led them to a wall that had fallen to ruins, but intact enough to hide their large bodies. "Keep your head low" Logue whispered. Silas did so, but was still confused. He's never seen specter's as that dangerous. " Is it aggressive?" Silas asked, also in a whisper as Logue had done so before.
" I don't know, but battle perished spirits are a wild card, they can turn volatile for very little very quickly, or don't even know you exist. Problem is you never know which one of the two will occur..." Silas was a little surprised. Right. He should've thought about it honestly. There had been a war that caused this...
He wanted to ask more, but Logue shushed him, so he quickly shut up. With bated breath they watched the specter pass. Whatever was on it's back looked odd. Was it what humans used to be? and the apparel, it definitely looked ancient. But it also looked forlorn and lost. Was it stuck in limbo maybe? Does it know it was dead? Sadly he couldn't ask.
"As you make your way across the Moor, you encounter a spectral Courser wandering aimlessly, its armor aged and torn. A second, human specter – or perhaps an extension of the same spirit – straddles the Courser’s back for some reason. They don’t seem to threaten you, but it’s unclear what would happen if they were to see you…"
