[MEDIUM] RP - The Aftermath - Campaign #13-3
Dillyweed | Söl / Rial
As Söl and Rial came crashing down the slide, having tried to slow themselves down a bit, they could see Stroheimer and Senbonzakura getting out of the way in the nick of time. The stop was softened by the slimy pile of muck that had been recently stirred by Stroheimer and Senbonzakura as well.
Rial took most of the muck in his face while Söl was slightly shielded by Rial.
“I’m sorry.” Söl said despite it not being his fault that Rial was the Courser ahead of him.
“It’s fine, it’s fine.” Rial tried to calm him down. Goosebert was honking loudly, having tried to fly away from them and landed in the muck as well. The goose was clearly not happy at all. He even jumped up and gave Rial a peck as if Rial was the cause of his dirty feathers.
Bart the bat was flying around Söl as Söl was getting up on his feet. The bat would fly around his head making stressed squeals until Söl was on all of his hooves and the bat could grab his mane again and hang on it.
“We couldn’t stop it.” Söl tried to explain. He didn’t need to explain it to Stroheimer or Senbonzakura. They knew how fast it went. And that it couldn’t actually be stopped. They had all walked too close to each other thanks to the dim light and despite the warning they had had very little chance to not fall down the slimy slide. As soon as Rial's front legs passed the top and Söl tried to help him they were doomed to fall down as well.
They recollected themselves for a bit. Looking around the small cave they had landed in there was one evident way that led out of it. It was their only chance. Rial tried to put his hooves onto the slimy slide but there would be absolutely no use even trying to climb back up. The moist moss created as little friction as possible for them.
“I suppose we can only go forward.” Söl said. He was trying to hide the fact that he felt somewhat guilty for this. If he had been able to keep Rial from falling down he felt as if it all could’ve been fixed. But they would never know.
They walked slowly, making sure that there wasn’t another slide that would throw them even deeper down. But instead they got to a door. The door opened very easily. It felt as if a slight wind would have blown it open. The room on the other side was covered from floor to ceiling with bookshelves. They all carefully walked in and started to carefully move the books around.
“This looks familiar.” Söl started to speak. He couldn’t put his hoof on why it felt like he had been here before. Or at least in a similar situation before. When suddenly the books started flapping. “Oh no. Oh no.” He knew what would happen. As if the first book that started flapping was the release button, all the other books laying on the floor or in the bookshelves started flapping their wings. They started quickly rising up into the air and the books seemed to shout their content at the nearest Courser. Gooserbert, remembering the last time this happened, started attacking the books and devouring them as quickly as he could.
Bart the bat hissed at the books that flew up into Söls face and shouted at him as they tried to attack him.

AberrantKapro | Strohmeier / Senbonzakura
To say the whole group was annoyed by the slimy ordeal was most likely an understatement, no one was likely to enjoy getting dipped in muck from head to toe after all.
After realising there was no way back up, they carefully made their way forward through moss and sludge until entering an eerily familiar place. The book in Senbonzakura’s bag was starting to shake and try to break loose, and Senbonzakura quickly understood why as the rugged library started to fill with movement from rioting books. They started to dive for the madder champagne as their main target, most likely due to him having one of their kin captured, so he swung his sword repeatedly as the books kept coming. They didn't care how torn up they were becoming, how could they? They were books. The relentless assault was purely caused by magic, and at this point they figured it was a defence mechanism.
Strohmeier also swung his sword to strike down the ravaging books, Micke helped him as best as he could and Kinka attempted to be brave but eventually ended up cowering under a table again, whining for the ruckus to stop.
Strohmeier repeatedly had to jump in to fend off a book that would attempt to attack the little shiba, but it was his duty, so he didn't complain.
After the group had fought for a while, the books were finally defeated. It went rather smoothly this time around, as they had rather predictable attack patterns and they all were adequately equipped to deal with such a minor enemy by now.
They regrouped to plan their next move.
