[DD1] The Enemy isn't the Monster, it's Fengbao

Fengbao trudged forward with a huff, hooves dragging on the rubble as he shook his long mane. One eye tracked the surroundings with a steely glint in their depths, and he was mostly thinking to himself, pondering what he should do. The courser saw an incline, and he hopped on it, “First, find a worthy opponent, and deal with it.” He decided, his bulky build not good at hopping on such a steep incline. But it was worth it, and soon, his hooves almost slipped on a moss covered ground, with Fengbao catching himself just in time.

“Well, fuck that.” A soft cackle, until he heard a rumble, and beneath him, rocks unfurled and shifted, their mass moving in uneven sways, until Fengbao had to hurriedly back away with a frown. The rocks he had been stepping on were golems, their massive form forming a shadow on the ground, and their eyes glanced over at Fengbao, groans forming from their mouth.

Huh, so he woke them up…

The horse sharply grinned, and the gleam in his eye went from steel to manic obsession. “Well, would ya look at you guys!” He cheered, “You look strong enough… Well. For someone below me, maybe?” His taunting made the at first, confused monsters tilt their heads, until they understood what Fengbao meant. They gave angered cries, and the two biggest ones went to hurl rocks at the courser. But Fengbao was fast, and laughing as he dodged their attempts, finding them to be too slow.

“Come, come, catch me if ya can!” He taunted harder, rearing back on his legs. “You’re so lucky I don’t…”

He avoided a fist to the ground, and took off into a sprint, using ledges to jump above them. Once he had a good standing, he backed up, and took off toward one of the smaller golem. His body flew in the air, back hooves kicking off the ledge, and he rammed into the poor golem. The stone crumbled under the weight of Fengbao’s body, and Fengbao used the momentum to jump into another golem. He directly kicked off their head, and jumped down.

On and on, he ran around them, the three golems looking more battered by the minute. Many times Fengbao slipped on the moss, and his body was covered in blood and wounds, but his chest was breathing fast, excitement clear on his face. He seemed to be having so much fun, and soon, one of the smaller golems fell, one hand falling off completely.

“Guurh…” A golem groaned, as it looked at the other two, worried about their friend. They glanced at the laughing horse with the dark mane, and decided to flee.

“Wait a minute, come back! For fuck’s sake…” Fengbao mumbled, “I wasn’t finished.” Blood dripped down his chin, and he wiped it against his own side. But he wasn’t done, no.

He lowered his head, and stalked off after the departing golems. He loved to win. He loved to kill, too.

And this? This dungeon was his playground now.

"You are climbing up a rocky incline when the ledge begins to shake, rolling under your hooves like joints being stretched. You have in fact stepped on several moss-covered golems. They don’t seem to mean you any harm, but you have awakened them from a restful slumber, and your way forward is above their shoulders. What do you say to these stone giants?"

...Meet Fengbao, I guess?
