Even the abundant greenery on this level of the dungeon seemed to have its limits. Rarely did they encounter anything much higher than Brynn's knees, especially as they wound their way deeper into the darkness. That made sense, plants needed natural light to grow, and that was few and far between. Mostly lichens, some mosses, all forming a lush carpet beneath their feet. There were fungi too, the strange plants that were somewhere between flora and fauna, in the coolest way possible. Brynn didn't really understand them, but she didn't need to understand. All she knows, is that they're cool. That's all she needs to know.

It was weird thinking about plants, and how there were no pollinators in the dungeons. She hadn't seen any bees or birds, or even felt a friendly breeze, since leaving the surface. Nothing to break the stillness and the quiet, and nothing to dry the dampness that seemed to cling to her coat on this level of the dungeon. Everything was strange and a bit sticky, but she wasn't complaining... not too much, at least. It wasn't enough to dampen her enthusiasm. Long steps carried her deeper into the dungeon, Rocky ambling close to her side.

A narrow corridor leads into the largest room they've seen in a while, a colossal tree growing straight through the middle of it. Feeling suddenly a bit tired and road weary, she casts a glance to Rocky. "What do you think, time for a rest?" The golem doesn't speak, only blinks at her once-- a pretty typical response, one she takes for agreement. "We can rest our feet for a bit, before going deeper." She fills the silence without thinking too much of it, drawing closer to the tree and settling beside it.

Brynn doesn't pay much mind to the talon-like roots that grip the cobbled floor beneath the tree, or the way the branches shifted and moved with no apparent breeze. The only thing on her mind is the sudden wave of exhaustion that crashes over her. Eyes growing heavy, even as they begin to dig into their snack. As if by some strange force not quite within herself, Brynn finds herself compelled to do one thing and one thing alone-- take a nap. It seemed like a safe enough place, and they weren't too exposed, especially with the tree for cover. "Hey, would you mind keeping watch if I--" a big yawn takes her over. "If I take a little nap? We can get going in a bit. Don't let me sleep too long though, okay?"

In a particularly vast chamber, you come across a lone tree whose roots reach claw-like into the stone. It is the only tree you’ve ever seen in the caverns. Though you haven't felt a breeze since venturing underground, the tree’s branches sway and creak above you. You feel compelled to do something… But what?
