Ew creepy creature!
Hunter's luck had come through for him again, either that or his charm. The up-coming dungeon crawler Terrence had overheard his stories and came to help him along through the dungeons. Either that, or Terrence's own boastful demeanor caused him to gravitate towards Hunter for having a similar vibe.
Pointing to a deep tunnel, Hunter smirks.
Terrence raises an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"
"Of course, nobody else seems to have gone down there before!"
"Shouldn't that be a bad sign?" Terrence asked, his tail flicking with slight nervousness.
Hunter frowned, turning to Terrence with a snort. "When has danger ever stopped you?" His tone was challenging, almost daring Terrence to refuse.
The woad stallion blinked, opening his mouth to press, but paused. Terrence huffed with a shrug. "Never."
Fetch was behind them, listening in with a raised eyebrow. Neither Hunter nor Terrence even noticed she was there, as they began stepping down into the dark and mildewy tunnel.
Fetch considered leaving, but decided she was too curious and followed them. The tunnel was so dark that her light, starry pelt disappeared as the three horses descended deeper and deeper in.
Soon, the three of them stopped as a sound echoed in the caverns. A low, dull rumble that seemed to make the rocks shake beneath their hooves. Hunter raised an eyebrow, halting in his tracks. "Do you hear that?" His ears twisted and turned as he listened to the rumble, which seemed to echo on the walls at all sides. "Is that a growl?"
"Sleeping." Fetch's sudden answer made Hunter jump with a squeak of surprise. Hunter snapped his head toward her with a scowl, stammering.
"What are you doing here?!" Hunter demanded with a stomp of his hoof.
Fetch didn't even reply, walking past them. Hunter looked at Terrence with bewilderment, and Terrence only shrugged.
The stallions walked after her, but before Hunter could confront her for her audacity, Fetch shushed him and gestured with her head around a nearby bend.
Hunter leaned around to see a terrifying sight; a large, hairless creature was lying not far away, snoring like a hibernating bear. Muscular and big, almost like a mountain troll.
"Gods, it's huge!" Hunter whispered, almost in awe of the odd twitching creature.
"I told you not to go this way," Terrence said, which earned him a glare from Hunter.
I honestly kind of like the dynamic between Hunter and Terrence. They're similar but different enough that they compliment each other, haha.
I may end up having Terrence pop in every so often just because I think they make for good interaction.
