Grandpa Jiu was an old man when he decided to change his life. He felt like he already did everything in life he could, had a partner, had kids, and then the kids had their kids. He had a home, he had a field, he worked it for many years, growing better or worse crops. He even fought some monsters back in the day. But then his partner died, his kids moved on, his field stopped being so prosperous… 

And so he ended up in a cave in a dungeon. Of course there were many steps before that, with decisions and different ideas. But it all led here, to a cave, where Jiu was about to step into when he spotted something slightly different than usual. 

On the ceiling there were bats. Grandpa Jiu has seen many bats in his life, bigger and smaller, once he even saw a family of tiny banana bats living deep in a forest. But from this point he could not recognize what type of bats these were. He heard different stories about the bats living down here, how some are to be avoided at all cost, weird creatures that hunt anything living just to suck it dry of blood. He could risk it and go forward, but he is too old for bravery. 

In the end grandpa Jiu chose another path to follow.
