The small herd was adventuring again, this time supervising Pyrr for he had wanted to try and find a treasure on his own this time and they were more than happy to supervise and keep him safe. And be a safety net for him when something spooked him and Pyrr would inevitably bolt back to hide between Winona and Czar (well, actually Czar's cat who is as fierce as a feral dog). Then, off to lead the way once more into the mossy caverns. Pyrr didn't ever go too far though, he didn't want to be alone even for a brief moment.

He halted in his steps when Pyrr trotted into a cavern with a great and vast tree, the smallest bits of light through cracks in the ceiling making the tree's bark look as if it were glowing with moss all over it as well as the cavern walls. The other Coursers were also quite fascinated by how such a thing could grow so large with so little light and water. Pyrr in particular was utterly enthralled by the ancient roots and branches before him, something about it was so intriguing. Winona's osprey Skylar would fly up to perch upon a branch of the tree to have a lookout area while the Coursers all explored the cavern.

Without hesitation, Pyrr would begin his climb up the tree to join Winona's osprey on the thick branches with his little cloven hooves acting as blunt but effective hooks into the tree's ancient bark. The colt couldn't figure out why but as soon as he watched Skylar perched upon the ancient branch he felt a strong wish to mimic and perch just like the osprey, Skylar tilting it's head in bewilderment at the sight of the young Courser following it up onto the strong tree branches.

"Oh, he's a bird now!" Czar would say with a laugh, watching in amusement as Pyrr perfectly balanced his little self upon the thickest branch he could comfortably sit on. Scarlett stared confused at the colt, wondering what on earth Pyrr was doing to want to be up in a tree. The two Coursers did not find this to be of concern, seeing this as just a strange little foal quirk to maximise exploration.

Winona was anything but nonchalant, the roan giant seeming agitated at the sight of the foal in a place that she could not reach him. She didn't like Pyrr being up so high where he was unreachable to her as well as where he could fall and hurt himself. Though she couldn't do anything except wait for him to come down.

Pyrr was having a good time though feeling like a bird!

  • In a particularly vast chamber, you come across a lone tree whose roots reach claw-like into the stone. It is the only tree you’ve ever seen in the caverns. Though you haven't felt a breeze since venturing underground, the tree’s branches sway and creak above you. You feel compelled to do something… But what?
