More Mushrooms
More mushrooms? Yes, more mushrooms. Moonlit didn't mind that the caverns were similar, though. She brushed her hooves against some mushrooms, half-expecting them to make another sound to let her know a hidden door was nearby again. Marmalade, meanwhile, leapt down to join her attempts, batting at the mushrooms playfully.
Moonlit chuckled at her kitty's antics until she felt something tug on her ear. She blinked, realizing there were a few small things flying around her head. At first, she thought they were bugs, her tail waving to swat at them, but then she heard a high-pitched squeaking sound. "Huh…?" She narrowed her eyes, looking closer at the strange shapes. But because she wasn't paying attention, Moonlit's hoof crushed one mushroom. "Oops." She lifted her hoof, snorting as she realized it didn't release a glow or a sound.
The little high-pitched sound grew a bit more insistent, and Marmalade padded over to see what was going on. His pupils grew wide, and he leapt onto her back, raising up on his hind legs to bat at the little flying things in the air. Moonlit paused, raising an eyebrow as she realized the mushroom she stepped on looked odd. Was that… a tiny door? She looked up at the strange flying things, tilting her head with a puzzled look, until one of them landed on her snout.
Moonlit flinched, but gasped as she realized what it was. A tiny pixie was yelling at her in its unintelligible language, angry with her over the destruction of its mushroom building. "Oh! I'm so sorry, I didn't realize!" Moonlit tried, though she wasn't even sure the pixies could understand her. First, she climbed on the golem. Now this? She was running into dungeon beasts at every turn, it seemed.
Marmalade meowed, jumping into the air to catch one pixie, but failed to do so. The pixies scattered as Marmalade jumped, and the cat snorted in annoyance at having failed to catch one of the pretty flying things.
"Oh! Marmalade, wait, those are friends!" Moonlit tried to correct her pet, nuzzling him with her snout as the pixie on her nose leapt off. The pixie frowned at her, turning up its nose and flying off. "Sorry!" Moonlit said. She sighed as she realized she had just ruined that pixie's day.
After a long silence, Moonlit trotted off. "Let's go before we cause any more trouble."
