As the party walked leisurely through the corridor, Riften took to observing their surroundings. The stone walls of the passage varied little, old bricks with the occasional recess with an unlit candle. Riften sighed, when Nyx and Alucard invited him to join their party, he thought he’d see something of more significance. He was an archeologist by trade, and he knew that the dungeons were full of artifacts just waiting to be found… but apparently not here. He glanced back toward Nyx and Alucard, the two were busy discussing their… pets. If you could call a mimic and a floating eye pets. And as if the eye could hear his thoughts, the eye turned to stare at the blue courser. Riften swiftly averted his gaze, deciding that the stone wall was exceptionally more interesting now.

It wasn’t too long after that the others came to a sudden stop, Riften nearly colliding into Alucard, and ending up a little too close to the floating eye. “Why’d we stop?”

Nyx looked back, “There’s a grate blocking the way, and it appears to be locked.” The mare nudged the door with her hoof for good measure, the metal grate unmoving. 

Moving past Alucard, Riften turned to the grate. The grate itself wasn’t anything special.. So it shouldn’t be too difficult to get around, if they worked together. “I think we could work around this…,” glancing up he trailed off… he was face to face with a creature on the other side. 

Alucard reared back, “what the hell is that!” The pale courser nervously huddled closer to the group.

Stepping back quickly, Riften observed the creature in front of them. It looked like courser, but in place of a head, it had a skull with unsettling, glowing eyes. It looked across the party with a feral look in its eyes before sticking it’s head through the bars. Riften turned back to his party, nervous, before a hoarse voice pierced the air, “let me join you.. Let me join your party…”
