The cat didn't leave.

In fact, it stuck around long enough that he decided he should name the damn thing, if only so he could stop referring to it as "the cat". He'd settled on Tampa, after a type of flower, which he was somewhat proud of since he wasn't great at naming things.

He had plenty of time to think down here, though. Still no monsters had crossed his path; he was beginning to wonder if the monsters of the dungeons were even real, though he knew that was a silly thought. He'd seen hard proof with his own eyes in the form of trophies brought to the surface.

Still, that didn't stop the fact that he hadn't seen anything.

Tampa trotted along dutifully beside him. How did she even have the endurance to keep up with him all day? He heaved a great sigh. All he'd gotten out of this was a cat that he wasn't even that fond of.

Though.. he thought he saw a room, or more like a cavern, ahead. Perhaps it was the den of some frightful creature with a long tail and mighty talons; he quickened his pace, though only slightly. It felt as though allowing himself to become too hopeful would make the monster disappear.

There was a strange shape hanging from thr ceiling close to the mouth; a great bat, maybe? It was hidden by shadow, but he saw it twitch slightly. Finally, something alive!

He stopped in the mouth of the cavern. The roof was dotted with those same shapes, and in the faint light shone from who-knows-where, Cyprin could see that it was a...

Wait.

He'd seen that before. It was in the big cave, with the green moths, who had glowed softly and landed on him curiously. There had been cocoons on the ceiling, a deep green, and the cavern had looked.. a lot like this one, actually. There was even the same oddly-shaped stalactite.

..There was no way he was in the same cavern. It had to be a different one, right? There was no way he had walked in a giant circle.

He was too dumbstruck to even be upset, staring into the cavern blankly. Tampa batted at a moth passing by, though she didn't catch it.

Cyprin collapsed to the floor with a long, drawn-out groan. Why was this going so terribly? All he wanted was to fight some monsters. That was it. Gloomily, he scraped his hoof along the stone floor, rolling a pebble back and forth. "Uughhhh," He groaned again, and Tampa licked the side of his face.

Eventually, he stood, turning to face the way they'd come. "Come on, Tampa." He muttered, whipping the air irritably with his tail. There had been a few branching paths along the way. Perhaps he would have better luck - or any luck at all - there.
