[DD1] sunless leaves
A tree.
Seren couldn't believe her eyes. She blinked her eyes fiercely, attempting to dispell whatever delirious dream she had stepped into, but the tree remained. Its branches shifted and swayed in an invisible, imperceptable wind. A tree, and it was moving.
"Oh, wow. Gwp, can you believe it?"
The green slime at her hooves trembled. Shhgbbrbgbgbl.
"Yeah... You're right. It's strange, but... not in a bad way." The woad mare stepped forward, her eyes ever trained on the branches. Gwp waited near the mouth of the cavern.
The trunk was thick, and the roots as full and powerful as a courser's haunches. As unusual as it was, she felt no ill intent in the bark, or the scent of sap. Pale leaves quivered more as she neared, as though excited.
"You must be very old," Seren breathed. "And you must miss the sun."
The tree swayed. Groaned.
"Were you here before the kingdom fell?"
A creak, high above. A whisper. A rustle. It was hard to interpret, but Seren carefully lay among the twisting roots, hoping—in time—she might divine some of the tree's wisdom.
In a particularly vast chamber, you come across a lone tree whose roots reach claw-like into the stone. It is the only tree you’ve ever seen in the caverns. Though you haven't felt a breeze since venturing underground, the tree’s branches sway and creak above you. You feel compelled to do something… But what?
