oh, that poor crustacean

Disgusting, was the first thing to come to mind at the sight of the crustacean, eyes — red and pale and with a distinctive sort of emptiness to them — following it in its journey across the cave floor. He was otherwise still, body large and imposing as it took up space in the dungeon, and a low, rumbled breath escaped through his nose a few seconds later.

He took a slow, calculated step forward until the path of the crustacean was blocked by his hooves and a terse silence settled in the air. It seemed to think now that there was an obstacle in its way, and it was a short moment later that the crustacean moved to go around his hooves, that irritating tinkling noise filling the air once more.

The Courser took another step, deliberate, to block it. Then another. And another. And another.

There was an irritable little click from the crustaceans claws. The Courser twitched an ear and lifted a hoof, almost as if he were going to take mercy on the creature and finally, finally allow it to leave…

Only to forcefully knock his hoof against the side of the chanfron and dislodge it, revealing the crustacean and its the now-vulnerable form. It attempted to scuttle away and after the chanfron, or perhaps to some other sort of safety within the cave; but, it was halted in its efforts by a hoof crashing down on its body, pressing and pressing and pressing

Conrad raised his hoof once it stopped moving and shook off whatever soft innards were now splattered upon it.

Disgusting,” His voice rumbled out then, rough and crackling from disuse.

The Courser dipped his head and used his teeth to pick up the crustacean, the taste of it salty and sour against his tongue.

There was no point in wasting a free meal, now, was there?

You hear tinkling beside you as a Courser’s chanfron tumbles – no, scuttles across the cave floor. Upon further inspection it is being used as a shell by a massive crustacean. How do you react?
