[DD2] Working together

For his adventure to the second level he had contracted a mercenary, fetch, to come along with him. He didn't travel in groups often, but found he liked the company. It seemed every group divided their roles differently, but he found that he preferred to be in the backseat most of the time and do stuff like carrying the items they needed to survive in the dungeon, or just be there to boost morale.

In this group it was just the two of them however, so just remaining in the background wouldn’t be very fair as it would put all of the other burdens on Fetch. So before they entered the dungeon they divided their tasks. Fetch would go in front with their buddy Maggie, and Silas would stay out of the way by either walking behind or slightly next to them with his giant moth flying next to him. Fetch knew these paths better then he did after all. But instead of just being a morale boost or item holder, he’d help this time by scanning the surroundings, and checking the map. Every now and then he would ask his moth to fly forth and check if any danger was ahead. And fetch would look out for danger, warn him of anything potentially life threathening and point them the way.

Maggie sure was something special though, he'd never seen a pet quite like it... His moth seemed to like them when meeting, the two turning circles around eachother in a playfull manner before they entered the dungeon.

He felt content with their divided roles, and if they found anything worthwhile, he’d definitely share it with Fetch, it was only fair. He’d feel icky if he kept everything to himself.

"The odds of surviving the dungeon are greater in numbers. Every Courser has their role in a party: what’s yours? Or do you prefer to work alone without dividing your spoils?"
