Prompt: Your way forward looks clear at first glance, but a look at the cave ceiling reveals hundreds of bats inverted in slumber. They might be harmless Painted Bats, but they could also be blood-sucking Draculas. What do you do?

Even as the vines from the pitcher plant began to thin out and the scent began to fade, the meager danger of the pitcher plant was soon replaced with another danger. It might explain why the pitcher plant chose this particular place to grow and how it had thrived so well. While the one trail brought in the potential of a big kill through the passing coursers that fell for its delightful scent, the other tunnel brought in a different source of food… bats.
Hanging from the roof, Eike could not even see a speck of the ceiling. Bodies shifted here or there but otherwise they remained asleep. Carefully Eike dimmed his lantern, lessening the amount of fuel flowing through it in hopes of not catching the bats’ attention. Unfortunately, even with the lamp so bright he had not been able to tell what kind of bats they were and that became even more impossible as the light dimmed.
Putting one hoof in front of the other, one hoof at a time, moving as slowly and stepping as lightly as possible, Eike made his way through the tunnel. Regardless of the type of bat he was determined to not wake them up. The tunnel was long and dark. The only reassuring aspect of the whole ordeal were the thinning vines. At least he had left one danger behind. A light end at the end of the tunnel gave him hope through the final stretch, holding himself back from picking up the pace. Continuing with his slow and steady movements he eventually reached the exit and left the tunnels behind. Walking slowly for some ways, he did not wish to startle the bats into leaving their tunnel.
Taking a deep breath once he was far enough away he felt safe enough to walk at a normal speed, happy to leave both the pitcher plant and its flying food source behind.
